MUMBAI, INDIA and HONG KONG – March 11, 2008 – NDS,
the leading provider of
technology solutions for digital pay-TV, today announced that
DEN Digital
Entertainment Networks (DEN), the new entrant in the Indian digital
cable market, has
selected a suite of NDS digital broadcasting solutions to launch
the company’s digital
cable service.
NDS will provide DEN with the world-leading VideoGuard® conditional
access system
(CAS), MediaHighway® middleware and an advanced electronic
programme guide
(EPG). NDS VideoGuard conditional access and DRM is used by
82.7 million active
subscribers, and NDS middleware has been cumulatively deployed
in 76.4 million
devices, enabling operators around the world to provide enhanced
services to viewers.
DEN is a leading cable network operator with a pan-Indian
footprint. Its vision is to drive
digitization in the cable distribution system. DEN is upgrading
the last mile to deliver an
enhanced digital entertainment experience to consumers. DEN
subscribers will be
offered highly engaging user functionality now and in the future.
Advanced NDS
solutions provide DEN the flexibility to introduce future enhancements

interactive applications and additional advanced services for
