Tata Sky Celebrates 2 Million Subscribers in India on its NDS Platform

MUMBAI, INDIA – May 13, 2008 – NDS, the leading provider of technology solutions for digital Pay TV, today announced that Tata Sky, the leading provider of Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite Pay TV services in India, has achieved the remarkable milestone of 2 million subscribers within a period of only 20 months. At a gala dinner to celebrate this significant accomplishment, NDS executives presented Tata Sky CEO, Mr. Vikram Kaushik, with a commemorative award.

In partnership with NDS, Tata Sky delivers a superior television viewing experience to an audience of more than two million subscribers across the country. Protected and powered by a suite of NDS solutions including VideoGuard® conditional access, MediaHighway® middleware, an advanced electronic program guide (EPG) and Value@TV™ interactive infrastructure, Tata Sky delivers advanced services and exceptional viewing quality to subscribers.

Tata Sky’s Pay TV platform is supported by NDS staff in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, ensuring continuing quality of service and development of new, exciting solutions for future implementation. Incorporated in 2004, Tata Sky is a joint venture between the TATA Group and STAR. Tata Sky launched its DTH operation in 2006 and has been the fastest growing Pay TV platform in India.
