NDS OONA also allows operators to offer third party applications and services such as IMDb, Facebook, and YouTube, enabling viewers to easily access related content from multiple sources.

This seamless access to social media, allows operators to offer peer-to-peer recommendations, interactivity and gifting between subscribers while creating communities, generating revenues, and reducing churn. Imagine watching a movie and creating a virtual community by commenting on it using Facebook, or recommending VOD content to a friend.

NDS OONA offers fully integrated search capabilities working across multiple content aggregators and content types, e.g. TV, VOD and Web. It also uses broadcast metadata to present recommendations from the operator, friends and third parties (such as Jinni and ThinkAnalytics).

In order to meet the needs of convergence, NDS OONA extends to mobile devices, PMPs and PCs, to enhance the viewing experience and watch content on the go.
