NDS PC Show™ is an end-to-end solution that enables
pay-TV and telecom operators to offer video entertainment
services on PCs. It helps bring the PC into the converged
environment and is fully integrated into the home network. The result
is complete flexibility for content discovery and consumption. PC Show supports
the delivery of content over the Internet or leverages
the operator’s existing broadcast stream.
With PC Show operators can expand
their business by securely extending services beyond
the TV to the end user’s PC. They can also employ
flexible business models and monetization capabilities.
PC Show enhances cross-selling opportunities
and sets the stage for future applications such as
advertising solutions, home networking capabilities
and advanced interactive opportunities, that will generate
revenue and reduce churn.
Designed to deliver maximum subscriber choice and flexibility, PC Show has
two versions:
- PC Show™ Broadband Edition—Delivers
VOD and linear channels over the open Internet. Designed with VideoGuard® DRM
to protect content, this robust software-only solution allows subscribers
to watch VOD as well as a basic selection of linear channels anywhere, using
the operator’s branded Web portal.
- PC Show™ Home Networking Edition—Extends Broadband Edition to allow full home networking capabilities
between STBs (zappers or DVRs), PCs and other connected devices.
Both versions leverage a common headend and client infrastructure and
are delivered as an end-to-end offering with pre-integrated partner solutions
such as CDN and CMS. NDS acts as the system integrator for the entire solution.
Alternatively, PC Show can be provided in SDK format with
formal APIs. This allows service providers to create their own customized PC
solution based on NDS technology.
